About

Girls face social pressures and conflicting messages about how they should act and who they should be. Studies show that by adolescence, girls' confidence drops about twice as much as boys'. Friendships become more complicated and challenging, girls' perception of their academic ability declines, the likelihood of anxiety and depression increases and participation in physical activity plummets.

It doesn't have to be this way.

We believe that EVERY GIRL is inherently FULL OF POWER and POTENTIAL. By knowing they are the leaders of their lives, these are the girls who WILL CHANGE THE WORLD.

Trained coaches lead small teams through our research-based curricula which includes dynamic discussions, activities and running games. What the program fee pays for: - Two 90-minute lessons per week for 10 weeks (this comes out to less than $6/hour of quality programing) - A 6-hour training for Girls on the Run coaches by Girls on the Run staff - A program t-shirt, 5k t-shirt, water bottle, participation in the Celebratory 5k Event and a 5k finisher medal. - End of season celebration and gift - Lesson materials and coach curriculums - Entry fee and 5k t-shirts for coaches - Grown-up Guide for each family to follow along with the lessons
